Our Team in a Nutshell
We have a mix of full time and seasonal summer staff and are always on the lookout for great people who work well in a team, are hard working and enthusiastic. We have a very multicultural team made up of people from all over the world who now call Queenstown home. Prior landscaping experience is great to have, but not a necessity. As you'll see below, we have had plenty of incredible people that have just been keen to get stuck in and give anything a go.
Our team love the activities the local area has to offer. We often spend time together outside of work, even if just for a quick beer at the pub. If you are keen for what Queenstown has to offer and team culture is important to you, you'll fit right in!
If you are looking for a career in landscape gardening or a summer position for your time in Queenstown, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Sami on 027 250 2846 or operations@shotovermowing.com.

"2017 - Present"
Hi, I'm Brendon. I started Shotover Mowing in 2017. I am incredibly proud to be part of a really close-knit team & love seeing our team build friendships that extend beyond work. I've personally been very lucky to have made many good friends with the people I've worked with. Excited to see what future years will bring.

After living in Queenstown for a couple years & working in hospo, I was ready for a change and a new challenge. Shotover Mowing opened their doors to me and brought me on board and I am grateful to have been able to grow into such a dynamic role, managing the team at Shotover Mowing. I feel very lucky to be part of such a friendly team and to keep learning while getting to work outdoors in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

"2023 - Present"
I left the UK in early 2023 on a journey to find a new home on the other side of the world and certainly found one here living in Arrowtown. The crew here at Shotover Mowing have been the Whānau I never knew I needed and I can't wait to continue putting down roots, whilst also digging them up in the Remarkables sunshine!

"2022 - Present"
I moved to Queenstown from Te Anau and work at Shotmo between working at the ski field in winter and loved every second of it. I I had a lot of opportunities to learn, grow, develop new skills and take on more responsibilities. It was nice to be able to get stuck in and use some old fashion kiwi ingenuity. We had a great team of passionate people which made for an awesome place with great culture. Thanks to everyone there who made it a blast.

I didn't have time for photos, only hard work!!! I came expecting mowing, but quickly found myself gardening, planting, hedge trimming and landscaping. It was great variety in a friendly enviroment.

‘I joined the team with no experience in landscaping or garden maintenance and went on to spend 2 years with the team learning and enjoying every part of the job.
I am now back in the UK, still gardening, having just started up my own business using the skills I picked up in Queenstown with Shotover Mowing’

"2019-2020"
I had a summer in Queenstown and started landscaping with Shotover Mowing for the summer. It was great working with an excellent team that were very supportive and taught me so many new skills. Having returned home to Ireland, I still regularly keep in touch with Brendon and hope to come back to Queenstown again to visit one day soon!

“I spent a summer season with Shotover Mowing during my career break from the UK. Coming from an office background, I arrived with no landscaping experience but was keen to take on a new challenge. It was an awesome experience with Shotover Mowing, I was quickly trained up and I learnt so many new practical skills!”
