  • What does your lawn mowing service include?
    Each service includes mowing the lawns, trimming around the edges, blowing off walkways and removing the grass clippings from your property (if required). If you would also like to have your gardens and landscapes maintainted, we can include this as part of your regular service. We offer weekly or fortnightly lawn maintenance.
  • Are you insured?
    Yes, we have public liability insurance. We can also assure you that we take great care in our work and that we have the utmost respect for our customer's properties.
  • Do you offer gardening and landscaping services?
    Yes, we offer garden and landscape maintenance for our customers. This can include maintaining your garden beds, plants, hedges and more. Garden and landscape maintenance can be included with your lawns as part of the fixed price for service. Alternatively we can perform service on them as required.
  • How do I get a quote for my lawns?
    Simply call or email our team on 027 463 5453 or info@shotovermowing.com and we will arrange a time that suits you to come to your property and meet with you. If you're not home, with your permission we can still view the property. After we have seen your lawns, we will provide you with a fixed price for regular servicing or a maintenance plan as agreed.
  • What is the cost for lawn mowing?
    We provide our customers with a fixed price for their weekly or fortnightly service. The price will depend on the property. Prices start from: $45 for residential & $90 for ride on mowing.
  • Do you offer one off services and clean ups?
    Yes, however if the lawn has been neglected and is overgrown, the price will be reflective of this. This is because one off clean ups can often take a lot longer and can produce a greater amount of green waste to dispose of.
  • What if my lawn is very overgrown?
    We can still mow it for you, however the price will be higher than what you could expect for regualr servicing. Longer grass will take more time to mow and may even need to be cut multiple times to bring the height to a desired level. As there will be more grass clippings, the cost to dispose of them will also be higher.
  • When can you schedule in our lawn?
    Usually within 7 days. We schedule our days of the week in different areas of Queenstown, therefore we can normally service your lawn the next day we are in your area. Depending on availability, we may be able to visit your property sooner, however travel costs may apply if we are not based in your area on that day.
  • Which areas of Queenstown do you service?
    We regularly service lawns in Queenstown, Shotover Country, Lake Hayes Estate, Dalefield, Lower Shotover, Speargrass Flat, Arrowtown, Frankton, Quail Rise, Kelvin Heights, Jack's Point, Hanley's Farm and Arthurs Point.
  • What size lawns/properties do you service?
    We provide service for small residential through to lifestyle blocks. We have push mowers and a zero turn ride on mower so no job is too big or too small.
  • Which days and hours do you work?
    Our usual hours of operation are: Monday - Friday: 8am-5:30pm. Weekends: We occasionally work on the weekends to catch up with rain delays or on one off projects and clean ups.
  • How often do you cut the lawns?
    We offer weekly or fortnightly maintenace. We recommend weekly mowing as more frequent mowing is better for the health of your lawn and is better for the aesthetics of your lawn.
  • Do you remove the grass clippings?
    yes, the cost for green waste dispoal is factored into our fixed price for our regualr lawn maintenance customers. For one off services the cost will be factored into the overall quote. if you prefer to keep the grass clippings to use as mulch in your gardens, just let us know. We will be happy to spread it through your gardens for you.
  • How do I pay?
    For our maintenance customers we invoice after each service. This can be paid by online transfer or credit card. For one off service, payment can be made via invoice or cash.
  • Will you still perform service if it rains?
    It will depend on the level of rainfall and the condition of your lawns. We endevour to provide service in a timely manner, however do not want to damage your lawn or provide a substandard. If we are unable to mow, we wil simply delay service until the conditions permit. Be assured that your property will not be missed.
  • What equipment do you use?
    We source and service all of our equipment locally at Stihl, Frankton. We operate a hustler rapter zero turn mower, masport push mowers and stihl weed wakers, hedge trimmers and leaf blowers.
  • Do I have to sign a contract?
    No, as we are aware that our customers needs may change, we do not ask them to sign a contract with us. We do request that our customers give us two weeks notice of any requested amendments to their service. This is to allow for scheduling purposes.
  • Do you catch, discharge or mulch the grass clippings?"
    We use a variety of mowing techniques, including catching, side discharging and mulching. For the majority of small residential properties we will catch the grass clippings. For ride on mowing we usually mulch or discharge. if you specifically want to have the grass clippings caught, please speak with us to discuss this option with you.
  • Do you offer leaf clean ups

  • Do you offer tree pruning and trimming?
    yes, for smaller trees we can prune, trim and shape. Depending on the height and or complexity of your tree/s, we may refer you to a dedicated team of aborists.
