New Gravel Parking Area
New Gravel Parking Area
Lake Hayes, Queenstown

Project Overview
A well-built gravel parking area can make a real difference to a property, turning an awkward or unused corner into space that actually gets used, without the cost or complexity of a sealed surface.
This project involved creating a new gravel parking area at a residential property in Lake Hayes, carried out by our team, Ferg and Matt. The site wasn't previously set up for parking, so the work started from the ground up.
The area was first excavated using a mini digger to clear and shape the space. Weedmat was laid down to form a barrier beneath the surface, then the site was built up with gravel and compacted using a plate compactor to create a firm, even base. Sleeper edging was installed around the perimeter, holding the gravel in place and giving the area a clean, defined edge against the surrounding lawn and garden.
At Shotover Mowing & Landscaping, we take on landscaping projects like this throughout Queenstown. And because we're the same team who handles ongoing lawn and garden maintenance too, once a project like this is in, we're the ones who keep looking after the property around it, not a stranger you'll never see again. If you've got a section of your property that could use an uplift, we'd be happy to help.
